Toxoplasmosis-Associated Lymphadenopathy: Description of a Series of Cases in a Reference Center

Background: Toxoplasmosis has a more severe manifestation in pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals. Up to 15% of immunocompetent individuals who have acquired the infection may be asymptomatic, however others symptoms confused with another cause manifestations such as ocular toxoplasmosis which is most common chorioretinitis can lead retinal necrosis. Considering that clinical characteristics lymphadenopathy-related Colombia not been reported despite its high frequency, it essential define presentation. Coinfections occurred 3% Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) 2% Cytomegalovirus. location predominately cervical adenopathies (83%). main associated symptom 37%. received Pyrimethamine/Sulfadoxine 37% having an adequate response. Conclusions: should guide us consider possible presence lymph node toxoplasmosis. Timely prevent severity complications our environment involvement greatly impacts quality life population.
